Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to set up a gym for my Hospitality Business?
It really depends on the size of the space, the equipment grade, and assuming the room doesn't need work beyond the equipment, like flooring, mirrors, ventilation, electrical, etc. As a rough range: compact boutique setups typically land under $50k, mid-size resort facilities run anywhere from $75k–$150k, and larger or wellness-forward builds go beyond that. The only way to get a real number is by letting us assess the site, floor plan, etc and asking for enough info so that we prepare a full equipment breakdown as well as an accurate quotation.
How do we trust that you will provide good products and services?
Honestly, don't take our word for you. Download our Questions to Ask Any Fit-Out Vendor worksheet and ask us every one of those questions before you commit to anything. We're also happy to connect you with references from properties that did decide to work with us. They should be able to give you real feedbacks on our products and services.
How soon should I start planning my gym setup?
If the project needs ownership approval, I'd start the conversation in the 6-9 month range before start date. This allows conversation to flow nicely back and forth. From the date of signing the agreement or contract, it would take us generally 3-4 months to fitout your facility. This accounts for put all the equipment in production, packaging, shipping, delivery, and proper installation.
How do I keep my gym functional well after for many years?
A maintenance contract with scheduled preventive visits will catch a lot of small issues from equipment usage. We also offer a detailed guide into simple equipment cleaning and maintenance so they function well for a long time.
I'm not ready to buy yet, what value can you provide me?

OUR STORY
Walk into almost any hotel or condominium gym in Phnom Penh and you find the same room: three treadmills, a bike, and nothing else. A room built to be listed, not used.
Most people who train want somewhere to lift. So that is what FitLabs builds.
Early on, I bought a piece of equipment from a local shop here. It arrived, it did not fit my dumbbells, and when I asked about a refund the answer was simply no. Not possible. That is how a lot of this industry works, and it is the reason we have kept the team small enough to actually answer the phone.
On one of our first projects, a $3,000 set of urethane dumbbells sat in our storage and we weren't careful so rats got to them. The chips were tiny, on the edges only, nothing you would ever feel in your hand. Delivery was days away. We could have offered them at a discount and explained. Instead, we apologised, ordered a new set, and took the loss.
Accidents happen. Equipment breaks. Things go wrong sometimes. That is true of every brand and every supplier in this business. What you are really choosing is who picks up the phone afterwards.

'Anybody can sell you equipment. That's the easy part. Picking up the phone after, that's responsibility.'
