In Cambodia, 'Home Gym' isn't a very common word that people use. This is because when we want to work out, we go to an actual gym. A gym at home usually consists of a few low-budget fitness accessories like yoga mats, abs roller, jump rope, a few individual dumbbells, or some sort of treadmill and that's it. In other countries, however, the idea of a home gym is much more defined.
A Home Gym is essentially a combination of space and essential equipment put together so people can get a similar workout to what they would be able to do at the gym, hence, the word home 'gym'. Home gyms are usually set up in a garage, or in the basement. The space can be as small or as big as you would like your home gym to be.

If you know how to choose the most essential equipment for your home gym, you have a lot of flexibility in your workouts. You can train however you like, you don't have to wait to use any of the equipment, and you don't have to train at a specific time, because your home gym is always open 24/7.
Convenience
Going to a gym is a whole process on its own. You have to get ready, you have to drive there, if it's not on your way to work or school, you have to go through traffic, etc. All of this can easily add up to 1-2 hours a day. Imagine having a space at home where you can do all of the same workouts, but put that 1-2 hours toward your workouts. This just saves you a ton of time. It's just very convenient.
Privacy
Not everybody can feel comfortable working out in the gym. Some people do get energy from having lots of people workout in the same space. However, having your own home gym can be a privilege. You can be working out whichever way makes you feel the best and nobody will be there to judge you or make you feel uncomfortable.
No 'Life gets in the way' excuse
The most important reason why a home gym can be a great asset is the fact that it can help people stay fit and healthy. Working out regularly is a lifestyle that promotes health. However, we always have things happening in our lives, and sometimes, we make excuses for not workout out.
